Imam Nadim Bashir

Imam Nadim was born in Florida and moved to the DFW Metroplex at a very young age. In 1989 he traveled overseas where he memorized the entire Quran by the age of 11.

He has earned a reputation for being a good reciter of the Quran from memory. He began the Alim Course at Jamia Madinatul-Uloom, New Orleans as a student of Shaykh Abdur Rahman Patel. He then went overseas to study at Jamia Taalimul-Islam, Dewsbury, U.K. for several years where he received Ijaazaat in various Islamic Sceinces, including Arabic, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith, Tafseer, Tajweed, and Qira'ah. He graduated in 2003 with a Masters in Islamic Studies and has been serving Deen in the U.S. till today.

From 2006-2009, he served as the lead Quranic instructor at a Quranic Academy in Arlington. In 2008 he served as the head of the Arabic and Islamic Studies department in IANT Quranic Academy which is located in Richardson. Prior to joining EPIC, he was serving as an instructor at Qalam Institute, and as the Imam of the Islamic Association of Mid Cities (Colleyville Masjid). We pray that Allah will enable Imam Nadim and the community to work together for the unity and prosperity of the community.

A SUMMARY OF HIS FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Leading the daily prayers
  2. Leading Jumah prayer and delivering the khutbah
  3. Leading Eid Prayers and giving the khutbah
  4. Leading the Taraweeh prayers
  5. Providing Islamic education services including Qur'anic Tafsir, Tajwid, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh, and more
  6. Providing focused Islamic education services to youth and sisters
  7. Acting as a resource for Islamic knowledge and provide daily office hours to answer individual questions
  8. Providing periodic educational conferences/ workshops
  9. Participating in and facilitating outreach and interfaith activities that further good relations with non-Muslims
  10. Providing basic family counseling

Ustadh Mohamd Baajour

Ustadh Mohamad Baajour joined EPIC as a full time "Director of Tarbiyyah (Education) and Community Development" on Jan 01, 2015 to help establish EPIC as a center of Islamic Learning, Spiritual Growth, Youth Activities, and Outreach.

Ustadh Baajour studied Aqeedah with Shaykh Omar Abdulkafi, Fiqh with Shaykh Muhammad Hassan, and Tajweed with Shaykh Muhammad Issam Al-Qudat in Sharjah. He was the Director of Religious Affairs for 15 years at Masjid Dar-ul-Quran in Bayshore, Long Island, NY, one of the largest Masjid’s in NY. As a Religious Director, Ustadh was not only responsible for the Tarbiyyah (Education) of his community, but also motivated the youth to become leaders. Ustadh Baajour has extensive experience in Community and Youth development. He built bridges with people of all faiths through outreach and helped establish Masjid Eissa-Ibn-Maryam as one of the most vibrant Masjid's in the NY area. Ustadh Baajour is currently an instructor with the Foundation for Knowledge and Development, a religious institute in NY, where he teaches along with Sh. Shakiel Humayun with Sh. Yaser Birjas and Sh. Omar Suleiman as guest speakers.

Sheikh Sajjad Gul

Sheikh Sajjad Gul has over 20 years of experience leading Taraweeh and is able to recite in various styles. He has a passion for teaching Hifz and Qira’ah and has gained popularity through his unique teaching style.

In the Hifz program, he not only teaches Hifz, but also Tajweed and Qira’ah and as such has great expectations from his students. He strives to provide a quality Hifz program, where students will not only memorize, but also be able to retain their Hifz..

Farzan Parupia

Farzan Parupia was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He graduated high school from Brighter Horizons Academy in May of 2010, and simultaneously he graduated with his Associate in Science from Richland Community College. He then attended the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business for one year before he decided to take one year off from university to study Arabic and Qur'an full-time for nine months at Bayyinah Institute in Irving, TX. He returned to SMU the following year to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing in May of 2013. From 2013 to 2015, Farzan worked full-time at Bayyinah Institute as the Operations Manager of Bayyinah TV. He then decided to pursue his own business.

Farzan has been a member of the East Plano community since 2007. He co-founded EPIC Youth in 2011 and served as its President for nearly two years (image bel0w). He also served as an officer of the EPIC Board of Directors from 2011-2013. Farzan now serves as the full-time youth director of the East Plano Islamic Center.

Farzan got married in September of 2012 and he has one daughter. Farzan is a HUGE fan of playing and watching sports. His favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite basketball team is the Los Angeles Lakers (mainly due to Kobe and Shaq in the early 2000s). He also plays both football and basketball very often. Other hobbies of Farzan include eating, chilling (with family and friends), going to the Masjid, reading, watching TV and movies (favorite show: Prison Break) and much more. His biggest passion though is being around the youth: hanging out with them, talking to them, helping them, etc.
